Stage 1: Trademark Search *(optional)
Trademark search is optional, but it is advisable to conduct a search before filing the application to find out if someone else has already registred the same or similar trademark.

Stage 2: Trademark Registration
Once your application is filed, the Examiner will examine the registrability of the trademark application. If there is no objection, the application will proceed directly to the acceptance. |

Stage 3: Trademark Publication
The application for registration of the trademark will be published for opposition in the Government Gazette. Any interested party may oppose the registration of the mark within 2 months of the publication date. In the absence of opposition, a trademark is registered and the certificate of registration will be issued. Thereafter, the registration remains valid for a period of 10 years and is renewable for further periods of 10 years.
* The entire process from filing an application until issuance of registration certificate (in a straightforward application) will normally takes about 18 to 24 months to complete.

Filing Requirements:
1. Full name and address of the applicant.
2. A mark specimen in JPEG format.
3. List of goods or services, please specify classes.
4. A Statutory Declaration.
